You are cordially invited to participate in the VIII International Conference on Environmental, Industrial and Applied Microbiology - BioMicroWorld2018, which will be held in Torremolinos/Málaga (Spain) from 24 to 25 May 2018.
The BioMicroWorld Conference is a well-established forum that has brought together researchers in the applied microbiology field every two years since 2005. This forum is aimed at communicating current research priorities and progress in the fields of industrial microbiology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, food and medical microbiology and other related fields, as well as inspiring collaborations for future research.
Some core topics proposed for the conference will include:
- Agriculture, soil, forest microbiology
- Environmental, marine, aquatic microbiology. Geomicrobiology
- BBB - Biodeterioration, Biodegratation, Bioremediation
- Microbiology of food and animal feed
- Industrial microbiology
- Microbial production of high-value products: drugs, chemicals, fuels, electricity...
- Biotechnologically relevant enzymes and proteins
- Medical, veterinary and pharmaceutical microbiology
- Antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy. Antimicrobial resistance
- Microbial physiology, genetics, evolution and adaptation
- Methods and technology development
In this edition, we are honoured to present an extraordinary guest, Professor Antonio Villaverde from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, who will deliver a Plenary Lecture during the Conference. The title of the Lecture will be: Bacterial amyloids for materials sciences and biomedicine

Torremolinos is a municipality on the Costa del Sol of the Mediterranean, immediately to the west of the city of Málaga, in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain.
Once a poor fishing village before the growth in tourism began in the late 1950s, Torremolinos was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and continues to be the most popular resort in the region in terms of bed occupancy and visitor numbers.
